The Esquire

The Esquire on Little Market Street, Tramore offers tasty specialities every day of the week, all year around. The Esquire has been delighting lovers of good for more then a quarter of the century.

The Esquire is supremely elegant, rich and warm – a jewel among restaurants in the South East and a restful retreat for lovers of excellent food and wine. The Esquire opens seven days a week, with bar food available 12-7pm, lunch 12noon – 4pm and dinner from 6pm also caters for all family and group parties, including Communions and Confirmations.

At the Esquire, all food is served fresh when in season and vegetables have no seasonings. Fries are cooked in Sunflower Oil and a great deal of the menu is Nutron-friendly. The Esquire’s fish dishes are inclusive of all the favorite fish and shellfish to be found in the Sea and River. All meat dishes are sourced from leading suppliers of the highest quality.

To accompany your meal, there’s a carefully chosen wine list of some 80 different vintages from all around the world. If you are looking for a lighter repast, snacks and lunches are served in the bar every day. The Esquire also lays on special menus for Valentines’ Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, as well as catering for other special events and hosting Theme Nights for parties.

The Esquire was opened in 1932 by local business man Jim Quinn as a Gentleman’s Bar. Taken over by Chef Patron Paul Horan in 1980 and soon after opened one of Waterford’s first good food restaurants. Chef Paul offers services throughout the years inclusive of Christmas Day. We have something to suit you, just give us a click. There are now two dining areas; The Bar with Bistro and the Crystal Room restaurant. Many drawings are on display of past guests. The theme is nautical with all original ships charts and boat parts. Two rooms are available for private parties and include self contained smoking areas.

A unique collection of over three hundred ports spirits and liqueurs are on offer from Chef Paul’s world collection. Lobster and Seafood are available throughout the year. Surf and turf is a regular feature with oysters, crab and scallops. Our draught beer is of top quality. We have street parking with a car park to the rear available. We accept all major credit cards. Wine card with vintages from around the world also.
