In March 2007, Goodbody Economic Consultants prepared an updated version of the 2005 report, based on new relevant data published by the CSO. This shows that the economic position of the South East has continued to deteriorate, with the Region now having the lowest per capita income in the State. These trends are disturbing and serve to reinforce the arguments made in the report regarding the pressing need for a University of the South East.
