The ability to deliver a good presentation is now seen as crucial in selling a product or service. Yet many people fear public speaking more than spiders, heights and even death. Even people who regularly deliver presentations can be hit by sudden attacks of nerves.
The good news is that you can learn to enhance your public speaking skills, through the Competent Communicator programme offered by Waterford Toastmasters. Toastmasters is a public speaking organisation designed to help people learn presentation skills in a relaxed, informal environment. And you’re sure to make some friends along the way.
There are 10 stages in the programme and each stage will teach you a new skill. You will receive feedback on your speeches and be given tips on how to improve your delivery. You can speak about any topic, but you can also avail of the opportunity to test your professional presentations on an audience.
Waterford Toastmasters meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month at the Tower Hotel at 8pm. Come to our next meeting and let us show you how you give your presentations that extra zing. Contact Derbhile from WriteWords Editorial on 087 6959799 for further details.
