The Forum on Public Procurement in Ireland (FPP) an independent not-for-profit voluntary organisation, established in 1996 aims to promote greater communication in the public procurement market. Public Procurement is now one of the largest sectors of sustained activity in Ireland’s economy. Some interesting facts:
- €10 billion spent per annum
- Over 700 buying agencies award contracts
- Over 4,000 contract opportunities are advertised every year
- In excess of 50,000 applications/tenders were submitted
FPP represents organisations and individuals concerned with purchasing within the public sector in Ireland. Its principal objective is to promote best practice and to offer support to both buyers and sellers operating in the public procurement market in Ireland. FPP offers an independent objective voice in the area of public procurement.
FPP enables Buyers and Sellers come to grips with the complexities of the public procurement process resulting from EU and national regulation. Seminars, training, membership support, access to experts and regular procurement updates enable members to develop a common understanding of the challenges faced by both the buyers and sellers.
If FPP can be any further assistance and if the €10 billion public sector market is of interest please do not hesitate to contact Breda Byrne on 01 4020810 or by email at
