Waterford Chamber and Vhi Healthcare announced the 2nd round winners of the 2007 series of Business Excellence Awards at a special awards ceremony in the Athenaeum House Hotel on Wednesday, 22 August. Read more >>>

The winners in each category are as follows:

Pictured below (l-r): Paul McDaid (Vice-President, Waterford Chamber), Barry Downes (TSSG), John McGrath (Vhi Healthcare), Siobhan  Flynn (Mothercare), Nigel Pim (Pims Business Systems), Robert Finnegan (Waterford Harbour Sailing Club) and Michael Broderick (Vhi Healthcare).

Four businesses were recognised on a local level for their commitment to excellence in the following sectors: Manufacturing, Retail, Hospitality/Tourism and Services.

In opening the event Vice President Paul McDaid acknowledged and congratulated the recipients for their hard work and the pride which they take in their business.

TSSG (Telecommunications Software & Systems Group) were commended for establishing themselves as the leading catalyst of high technology Information Communications Technologies in Waterford and the South East and having brought in 40 million EUR of funding to WIT since its foundation in 1996. Barry Downes representing the company said that they were delighted to receive the award.

Siobhan Doyle, Mothercare Waterford received an Award for Excellence in Retail. Mothercare were awarded for their Customer Services and in particular their Car Safety awareness events and their Mother & Baby evenings.

Waterford Harbour Sailing Club received the well deserved Award for Excellence in Hospitality/Tourism. Having brought the RS Feva European Championships to Dunmore East in July, Robert Finnegan, Commodore said that as a small Club they were honoured to receive the award.

Nigel Pim of Pims Business Systems received the Award for Excellence in Services. Having grown significantly over the last 6 years Pim Business Systems have certainly made a success of their ever increasing portfolio.  Nigel thanked the Chamber, Vhi Healthcare and the team at Pims Business Systems for their constant dedication and hard work.
