Equality Authority Breakfast Briefing

The Equality Authority and Waterford Chamber wish to invite all members to a breakfast briefing with the business and trade union sectors. The Equality Authority is preparing a new Strategic Plan for the period 2009 - 2011. The meeting will provide an opportunity to brief you on the work of the Equality Authority and on the work it is currently doing to support workplace equality. A full breakfast will be served.

€collective Launch Their First Training Course – Building Energy Rating

€collective will shortly run its first training course of 2008. The Building Energy Rating (BER) course normally costs €2000 per delegate, but in this scheme is offered at the heavily subsidised rate of only €600. All new houses sold in Ireland must now have a BER certificate and this course qualifies successful delegates to issue these certificates.

Five places remain, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The course is run by Tipperary Institute and takes place in two three-day blocks. Block 1 runs on 16 – 18 April 2008. Block 2 runs on a choice of dates in May. The course examination is on 30 May. Click here to find out more about €collective. Report on WIT Application for University Status

The Dept. of Education has published the report on WIT's application for university status. The Government is expected to make a decision on whether or not to grant university status to WIT within the next month. Read more

John Mahon Shows His Passion For Waterford

John Mahon has been honoured for his lifelong voluntary work with the Waterford Crystal Swimming Club and Splash World, becoming a recipient of a Vodafone Passion for the World Around Us Awards in Waterford.

John has been a voluntary swimming instructor for the past 40 years. It is estimated that John has taught over 10,000 children and adults from all over Waterford how to swim. He has taught all these people not only how to swim, but has also encouraged them about health and fitness and the importance of water safety. Read more >>>
