It has been brought to our attention that many businesses in Waterford are unaware of new arrangements introduced in January 2007 regarding spousal work permits for non-EEA nationals. Spouses can now process their own work permits and are exempt from application fees.
Also, employers are not required to advertise positions through FAS/EURES before making the work permit application – the labour market needs test. More information on this subject is available at www.entemp.ie, www.mrci.ie and www.citizensinformation.ie
