Waterford Chamber and Vhi Healthcare announced the 3rd round winners of the 2007 series of Business Excellence Awards at a special awards ceremony in the Athenaeum House Hotel on Wednesday, 24 October. Read more >>>

The winners in each category are as follows:

Four businesses were recognised on a local level for their commitment to excellence in the following sectors: Manufacturing, Retail, Hospitality/Tourism and Services.

In opening the event President Andrew O’Neill acknowledged and congratulated the recipients for their hard work and the pride which they take in their business. “It is fantastic to see this commitment to quality in Waterford industry and long may it continue”.

Dataworks was awarded for its commitment to Excellence in Manufacturing with Liam Curham representing the company. Liam highlighted Dataworks dedication to good service and thanked the great team at Dataworks for all their hard work.  Liam said ‘he was delighted to receive the award’.

Michael Downes, Foxy Chopper Hair Salon received an Award for Excellence in Retail. Michael thanked his team who ‘helped make this happen’.  Having just received a National Award last week, Michael said ‘it is also great to be recognised locally’.

Aer Arann received the well deserved Award for Excellence in Hospitality/Tourism.  On receiving the Award Colm Lewis said with 10,000 passengers passing through Waterford Airport in August it is onwards and upwards for Aer Arann in Waterford.

John Grogan of Saint Dominic (Waterford) Credit Union Ltd received the Award for Excellence in Services. Having grown significantly over the past 40 years, John said ‘the Credit Union is all about service’.  John thanked the Chamber and Vhi Healthcare and the Credit Union team for their constant dedication and hard work.

John McGrath, Corporate Account Manager, Vhi Healthcare said, "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the latest winners on their well deserved achievement which acknowledges their on-going commitment and dedication to delivering customer and business excellence.
